Andrew Michaud, CLU, ChFC
Andrew Michaud, CLU ®, ChFC ® is an Account Executive at Turner Barker Insurance. He focuses on advising business owners, families and individuals in the areas of life insurance planning and funding; including buy/sell agreements, estate planning, education funding, charitable giving, retirement and employee benefits.
Andrew has over 15 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry with MassMutual, MetLife, and Charles Schwab. He is a graduate from the University Of Maine College Of Business Administration and is a Chartered Life Underwriter and a Chartered Financial Consultant. He has been a General Securities Sales Supervisor with FINRA since 2000 and is member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
Andrew enjoys the Maine Outdoors year around. Whether it be camping, boating and fishing in the Gulf of Maine in the summer months or skiing the mountains in the winter.

Bradford S. Kirkpatrick
Brad is Executive Vice President and a Commercial Lines Account Executive for Turner Barker Insurance. Brad joined Turner Barker in 1978 offering insurance products and services to both business accounts and individuals. Brad bought Turner Barker in 1985 with partner Doug Allen and successfully managed the agency until 2001 when Gorham Savings Bank purchased the agency. Brad continues to offer business insurance solutions to Maine businesses and not for profit organizations.
Brad is a graduate of the Whittemore School of Business and Economics and the prestigious Travelers Property & Casualty School of Insurance. He also earned his Certified Insurance Counselor designation in the mid 1980’s.
Brad is the corporate recruitment Chairperson for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Great Strides Walk, Co-Chair for Portland Rotary’s International Committee and a former director of the Maine Insurance Agents Association.
Brad resides in Cape Elizabeth with his wife Barbara. They have a passion for entertaining family, boating on Casco Bay, travel and food & wine.

Douglas G. Allen
Doug is President of Turner Barker Insurance and has been with the organization since 1980. In 1985, Doug and his partner, Brad Kirkpatrick purchased the Agency from Bill Robertson and Bill Luce. In July 2001, the Agency became part of the Gorham Savings Bank family of companies and Doug has continued his management responsibility. Prior to joining Turner Barker, Doug started his career as a Loss Control representative and then moved to USF&G as a casualty underwriter. Over this period, Doug has focused his insurance skills on Hospitality and Contractors accounts.
Doug is a graduate of Wentworth Institute, Boston and studied Building Construction Technology. Over his career he has served on Agency Councils for Peerless Insurance, Concord Insurance Group, Maryland Casualty/Farmers and Home Insurance.
Doug resides in Yarmouth with his wife and has served in community activities including the Town Insurance Committee, Yarmouth Hockey Boosters and past President of Yarmouth Little League. Doug is a Past Master of Bethlehem Masonic Lodge, Past President of Maine Retriever Field Trial Club and continues to participate in tennis, boating, cycling, hunting and fishing.

William Exley
Bill’s insurance career began in 1986 as an independent agent/broker in the Life & Health field. He joined Turner Barker in 1992, specializing in providing commercial insurance protection and risk management services to a wide range of Maine businesses including contractors, automotive services, restaurants, professional service providers and commercial property managers and owners. Bill’s clients are located across the entire state of Maine, from Lubec to Millinocket to Kittery and into New Hampshire.
Bill is a graduate of Princeton University, the Wharton School Executive Seminar Program, the Commercial Union Commercial Lines School for agents and the Compliance Check Risk Management Training Program. He is an active member of the Falmouth Rotary and the Southern Maine Landlord’s Association, and is the Secretary Treasurer of the Princeton Alumni Association of Maine.
An avid sport enthusiast, Bill spends much of his free time hunting, fishing, boating and playing golf. He and his wife have been Portland residents since 1986.

Joan Hopkins, CIC
Joan is a Business Insurance Agent with expertise in providing insurance and risk management solutions to the hospitality industry throughout the entire state, as well as serving the insurance needs of contractors, professional consultants, and nonprofit organizations. Joan has been employed by Turner Barker since 1988 where she started her career in the claims department.
Joan is a graduate of the University of Maine with a B.A. in Political Science. She earned her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 2007, and is currently working toward her Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation). A once active member of the Maine Young Agent’s Committee for several years, she continues to support the mission of increasing educational opportunities to young insurance professionals through at the collegiate level.
Joan resides in Gorham with her husband and two teenage children. She belongs to the Gorham Business Exchange, is a member of the First Parish Congregational Church, and has coached several youth athletic teams over the past decade. She is now proud to cheer on the Gorham High School Rams as a spectator from the sidelines.

Kip Thomas
Kip is responsible for new business personal lines sales for Turner Barker Insurance. Kip has been with Turner Barker Insurance since March of 2010 , before joining Turner Barker was previously with Morse Payson & Noyes/ TD Insurance for 11 years as a private client producer.
Kip specializes in all personal lines property & casualty products which allows him to provide each one of his clients a personalized solution to their needs.
On a personal level Kip enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 grown children. Being a previous deacon Kip is involved with his church and community, while also being an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Kip’s favorite quote – "Don't concentrate on making a lot of money, but rather on becoming the type of person people want to do business with."

Leigh-Ann Morgan
She started her career in the insurance business in 1996 working in the Life and Health department at Unum Life Insurance Company. After 5 years in the claims department she transitioned to the sales department and served Maine brokers through out the state.
In 2006 Leigh-Ann joined Turner Barker Insurance as a Life, Health and Employee Benefits producer. She holds an Associated Degree in Computer Science, Bachelors Degree in Business and a Masters in Business Administration. She holds a Life and Health License and wellness certification.
Outside of the office Leigh-Ann leads Brownie Troop #165. Her troop is extremely special to her and leading the girls through their own personal goals and group activities helps pave the way for these young girls to become future leaders. She is also involved with the Junior Achievement organization and enjoys helping educate grammar school students in the South Portland community.

Kalevi E. Kotkas, CLU, ChFC
Kalevi E. Kotkas, CLU, ChFC is Vice President of Life & Employee Benefits at Turner Barker. He focuses on advising closely held family businesses in the areas of life insurance planning and funding, including buy/sell agreements, retirement, estate planning and employee benefits.
Mr. Kotkas has over 35 years of experience in the insurance business, beginning his career with Aetna, Union Mutual (now UNUMProvident) and Mass Mutual. He is a Chartered Life Underwriter and a Chartered Financial Consultant.
Mr. Kotkas served as the past President of the Maine Estate Planning Council and the Society of Financial Services Professionals. Kal is a member of National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
Mr. Kotkas served as chair of the capital campaign committee for the School of Applied Science, Engineering, and Technology at the University of Southern Maine and is the Chair of the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences Advisory Council at USM. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Institute for Family-Owned Business at USM
Mr. Kotkas is a graduate of Bowdoin College and served in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant.

Jim Mulligan
Jim is a commercial lines account executive in the Saco office of Turner Barker Insurance. An attorney and commercial insurance broker for nearly two decades, Jim has successfully developed and implemented property and casualty risk management programs for the apparel, staffing, merchandising and cable television industries.
Jim graduated from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts and Pacific Coast University School of Law in Long Beach, California. He is a member in good standing of the California Bar Association and has represented and advised corporate clients in employment, contract, insurance and collections matters. Jim currently holds the Associate in Risk Management, Certified Risk Manager & Certified Insurance Counselor designations.
A native of Barre, Vermont Jim lives in Kennebunkport with his wife Gwen and two young sons.
